Photos and Spoils

It has been a rough past three days for me. But I can say that with what has happened, it has helped to make me a stronger person (in some ways I suppose). We recently lost one of our little bottle baby goats. It hit me in a weird way too. I tried all that I knew and could do to save the little thing, but sadly he passed away right in front of me. It is a weird (heart wrenching) thing to watch an animal die, minute by minute, right in front of you...and there is nothing you can do.

On more positive notes....

Yes, yes I did. I finally buckled and got what I have been wanting and eying for quiet some time...but could just pursue financially at the time. A medium Saddleback Leather Notepad holder...in Chestnut. Beautiful item. Pulling it out of the package was a fun experience too! And the smell of leather...yea, bliss. I am already putting his to good use. Maybe in the future I will be able to afford a nice leather bag - you know, something that a mom can carry ALL the things she needs in (journals, pens, tablets, baby clothes, diapers, wipes, makeup, wallet, etc) lol.

Lately, I have been doing a lot of reflecting on my life. Not in a good, or bad way necessarily, but in a constructive sense (more or less). I look at where I am at in my life. There are some things I might consider changing (like whether or not I would rather go back into the work force or continue to be a stay-at-home mom). Where I once was years & years ago mentally, physically, spiritually, and where I have thus ended up today. Today: I have two beautiful boys (for which I am thankful for, even if we never get a little girl I refuse to have acceptance issues like I know some women struggle with), I have a loving, caring, and hard working husband who has helped build this family, and I have a loving, gracious, and merciful God that I serve, who I have built a relationship with over the years. From age 17 to 27, I have taken one hell of a ride in life. A life full of trials, challenges, and successes that has helped shape me into the person I am today.

My passion for journals, pens, and photography (okay, and horses too!) continues to grow. I enjoy the simpler things in life, not necessarily the finer things, but simplicity.... The moments in life with the ones you love, not the things you buy. Those moments where you cherish every living second. Well, with that being said, I would like to share some photos that I have taken in the past weeks and end this post with that.

Don't think he will like Lemons anytime soon, LOL

Spark of Creativity!

Halfway through the week! Woohoo! I am quiet excited for the upcoming weekend.

So I have recently had a spark of creativity. I discovered Mod Podge. Wow. That is all I can say. The uses that I can put it towards. I have started to recycle baby food jars into Candles, decorating plain boring journals and turn them into something even more personal (beyond just the words on the pages inside).

Piccadilly Journal

Granted there is still some more work and experimenting to do, but I am having fun while I do it!

This journal pictured is one that I will keep. With some Mod Podge, Tissue Paper, and some cute stickers, I was able to make a cute journal. I experienced how difficult it can be to cut tissue paper and hope it turns out right (hehehe).

With this new string of creativity I have also been decorating clipboards. I will have to add some pictures later of my candles and clipboards. I have to give credit where it is due though. Pinterest. The things you can find on that website! Plus, it is addicting.

My random picture share.

Christmas joys

Coffee, cookies, and journals. One of many perfect ways enjoy Christmas day. I smile as I write this because I get the blessing to watch my husband and our son Tanner playing with Thomas the Train motorized sets. As adults, I think we tend to have a little 'kid' left in us, even after growing up, that we don't want to let go of.

The snow has been limited this year....for which I am thankful for! Nothing as heavy as what we had last year, but we still have a couple of inches. I love as it as snow lightly brushes the fur trees with powder. Just enough to add a beautiful accent and not bury the tree.

One of the many things I enjoy about living in Idaho is that you are never far from a forest park. Enjoy a nice drive and see where you end up. The mysteries that lay hidden in the forests are endless!

I have decided to try to pick up my blogging
again, but am going to stay away (as much as possible) from blogging about personal stuff. Journals, pens, and photography will be my main focus...with an occasional review or sharing of things I have tried off of Pinterest here and there.
